As winter approaches, many of our New Jersey neighbors struggle to stay warm and protected from freezing temperatures and biting winds. For thousands of low-income families, the cost of a winter coat is simply out of reach. With coats often costing $100 to $200 or more, the burden is particularly heavy for large families, many of whom are already struggling to meet basic needs.

Each year, the Jersey Cares Coat Drive mobilizes volunteers across the state to make a meaningful impact for those who are struggling most. By collecting and distributing new or gently used winter coats, the drive ensures that our neighbors stay warm, healthy, and protected during the harsh winter months. With over 25,000 requests for coats expected this year, the importance of the Coat Drive cannot be overstated. Yet, the Coat Drive goes beyond offering warmth during the coldest months—it restores dignity and hope, making a lasting impact on the community.

How You Can Get Involved

The 2024-2025 Jersey Cares Coat Drive will take place from November 6, 2024, to January 12, 2025. Jersey Cares provides opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities to get involved. • Host a Coat Drive collection site at your home, school, or office. Provide your community with a convenient drop-off location, helping ensure more coats reach those in need. You can host a private or public collection site for the entirety of the coat drive or for a shorter period.
