This spring, volunteers from BNP Paribas and UBS rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty at Camp Liberty, a nonprofit summer camp operated by the Educational Arts Team in Jersey City. Their efforts helped ensure the campgrounds will be safe, welcoming, and beautiful for hundreds of local children to enjoy this summer.

BNP Paribas volunteers tackled essential landscaping work—raking leaves, weeding garden beds, spreading mulch, planting flowers, and cleaning up the grounds. Their hard work laid the foundation for a vibrant, well-maintained outdoor space where campers can run, play, and explore the natural world around them.
Meanwhile, UBS volunteers brought a splash of color and care to Camp Liberty by painting 32 benches and 20 picnic tables, giving the camp a fresh, bright look and making it a more inviting place for children to gather, learn, and create summer memories with friends and counselors.

These projects are part of a longstanding partnership between Jersey Cares and Camp Liberty, which has connected corporate volunteers to the camp for the past several years. Each spring, Jersey Cares mobilizes teams of volunteers from companies across New Jersey to help prepare the campgrounds for the busy summer season. From clearing trails and painting walls to planting flowers and building garden beds, these projects not only improve the physical space but also show campers that their community cares deeply about their experience.
“Thank you again for sending such wonderful groups from BNP Paribas and UBS to Camp Liberty,” said Dom Buccafusco of the Educational Arts Team. “They were energetic, committed, and made a huge impact. From mulching and planting to painting benches and tables, their work has truly transformed the campgrounds. The space is really coming together, and we’re so grateful for Jersey Cares’ continued partnership in connecting us with these outstanding corporate volunteers.”
Thanks to the generosity, time, and teamwork of BNP Paribas, UBS, and Jersey Cares, Camp Liberty is well on its way to being summer-ready for the local children who look forward to its magic each year. It’s another great example of how volunteerism can make a lasting difference in our communities.
